Scuba diving - Calheta de São Martinho

Dive into the depths of Calheta de São Martinho, in the municipality of Ribeira Grande where you can find the ruins of the building of the mythical French airline, Aéropostale, leader of the routes from Toulouse, a city in southern France to Santiago de Chile. In this small village, you will find the base of the powerful crane, the instrument that was used to move the seaplanes to land, as well as remains of the machinery and half a dozen houses that belonged to the company's engineers. And at the bottom of the sea lies a vessel that may have belonged to Aéropostale.

    Boat Trip - Baía do Inferno – Visit to the Caves

    Known for areas of difficult access, located south of the fishing village of Porto Rincão, Baía do Inferno on the Santiago Island is an area rich in diversity, in terms of seabirds, dolphins and fishes. The area ranges from coral walls to caves, tunnels and channels and is now part of the National Network of Protected Areas.

      Urban Tour in Achada Grande Frente

      Explore one of the largest suburban neighborhoods of the Capital of Praia, Achada Grande Frente, located east of the city center, which for many years was known as one of the most socially problematic neighborhoods of the city. Meanwhile, with the Urban Art Program, promoted by the NGO Africa'70 in partnership with the Association Pilorinhu and the Municipality of Praia, eight workshops were held over a period of 3 years with international and Cape Verdean artists, such as Vhils, Alexandre Keto, Bankslave, Dreph, Yuran Henrique, Falko One, Ananda Nahú, Finok, Paula Plim as well as workshops with national artists such as Sabino & Fico, Tutu Sousa Ider da Lomba & Hibrarin Dias, Gilda Barros, Carlos Lopes, Talin Neves, EGarcia, ISilva, Zurk, and more. 


      After touring the neighborhood, you can experience the traditional wood-fired cooking and try the typical meat plate Cachupa, where corn and beans are the main ingredients, made by the famous Dona Júlia, the cook of the neighborhood's festivals.

        Trekking in São Domingos 

        Just 18 km from the capital of Praia, you will discover a beautiful acacia forest at the bottom of a cultivated valley and visit two brandy distilleries, a grog house, a botanical center where you can observe endemic plants and a panoramic view over the valley and the mountains. You may walk to the village of Rui Vaz (3 km), a magnificent village at an altitude of 800 meters, which offers a superb panorama of the island of Santiago.
